GPA Midstream’s Environmental Committee monitors environmental issues, particularly those related to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which could impact midstream operations. With support from the Advocacy Advisory Group, the Regulatory Committee works with GPA Midstream and GPSA member volunteers to determine a position on issues and then develop and implement appropriate actions.
This committee initiates and annually handles the application process for the GPA Midstream Environmental Excellence Award, which honors outstanding projects by member companies in energy conservation and environmental performance. The award is presented each year among nearly 2,000 midstream professionals at the annual GPA Midstream Convention.

The GPA Midstream Natural Resources Subcommittee is under the Environmental Committee. This subcommittee monitors policies, such as endangered species listings or proposals from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), which could impact midstream operations. With support from the Advocacy Advisory Group and the Environmental Committee, the Natural Resources Subcommittee works with GPA Midstream and GPSA member volunteers to determine a position on issues and then develop and implement appropriate actions.
