GPA Midstream’s Environmental Committee monitors environmental issues, particularly those of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and equivalent state agencies where midstream operations are or could be affected. The committee frequently coordinates GPA Midstream member company volunteers to develop a midstream industry position on key industry issues, develops appropriate action plans and files comments as necessary.
This committee initiated and annually handles the application process for the GPA Midstream Environmental Excellence Award, which is a project-based award that acknowledges and honors companies' achievements in energy conservation and environmental support. The award is presented each year among nearly 2,000 midstream professionals at the annual GPA Midstream Convention.
