Policy, Partnerships, and Priorities: GPA Midstream CEO Visits DC

GPA Midstream President and CEO Sarah Miller visited the nation’s capital as the city swirled with activity related to changes in the country’s leadership and new directions for energy policy.

Why it matters: During Miller’s trip to DC, she joined with GPA Midstream’s advocacy team, Vice President, Federal Affairs Stuart Saulters, and Director, Government Affairs Andrew Mooney to connect with GPA Midstream members, policymakers, and leaders with allied energy industry trade associations.

Zoom in: Miller and Saulters represented midstream at American Petroleum Institute’s (API’s) annual State of American Energy event, which provides an opportunity to hear from policymakers leading on energy issues. This year’s guests included Senate Majority Leader, John Thune (SD), and House of Representatives Natural Resources Committee Chairman, Bruce Westerman (AR-04), who offered perspective on how Congress will address the country’s energy challenges.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune discusses America's energy policy with American Petroleum Institute President Mike Sommers during API's annual State of American Energy Event.
  • Miller connected with GPA Midstream members with staff in the DC area to discuss the association’s advocacy priorities with the Trump administration and 119th Congress.
  • Miller met with allied energy trade groups, including International Liquids Terminal Association, American Gas Association, and API to discuss opportunities to collaborate with these groups.

GPA Midstream staff in DC ensures the voice of gathering and processing operators is heard, and Miller’s visit reinforces the association’s commitment to be an advocacy leader.
