GPA Midstream and GPSA Midstream Suppliers issued the following statement in response to the recent Senate confirmation of U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary, Sean Duffy:

“GPA Midstream and GPSA congratulate Sean Duffy on his confirmation as Transportation Secretary. We thank the Senate, Majority Leader John Thune, and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for swift action on the nomination. We appreciate Senator Ted Cruz for convening a nomination hearing in a timely manner.

A critical part of the DOT’s mission is ensuring the safe delivery of goods, and energy is an essential good for Americans. Our members are proud to build and operate the infrastructure that transports energy to homes, businesses, and industries across the nation.

We are eager to collaborate with Secretary Duffy and his team at the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) to advance effective pipeline safety policies. By focusing on practical, balanced solutions, we can enhance safety while avoiding unnecessary regulatory burdens, ensuring the reliable flow of energy for years to come.”
