Whether it’s at Vendor Night, in a hospitality suite or at an exhibit hall booth, the wealth of sponsors at the 2024 GPA Midstream Association Convention makes it a networking event like no other in the industry.
“I hope this a way for members to connect with peers who can help advance their business,” said Melodi Foster, GPA Midstream Director of Meetings and Events. “The convention is a place where you can meet face-to-face with so many people under one roof.”
The convention coming to San Antonio’s Marriott Rivercenter Sept. 22-25, will feature more than 70 sponsors including 10 with a booth presence in the gathering area outside the main ballroom throughout the industry assembly.
This year, the biggest sponsors are Audubon Engineering, Baltimore Aircoil Co. Inc., DNOW Inc., Eastman Chemical Co., Emerson Electric Co., ISTI Plant Services, Process Vision Inc., Sundyne Corp., TransTech Energy and ZAP Engineering & Construction Services Inc.
One highlight event is Vendor Night, an opening night reception from 5-8 p.m. Sunday with 25 vendors in attendance. Foster said the diversity of vendors make the gathering a good opportunity to meet many suppliers of goods and services in a single room.
Entertainment and experiences are the focus of the nine public hospitalities on Tuesday night. Spaces on the third floor are transformed into an array of themed locations, including casinos, virtual racecar experiences, speakeasies and German bier halls. Each year, hospitality sponsors bring creativity to the fore for a space where convention attendees can interact in a casual setting with potential partners.
“This is an opportunity to get out at the end of the day to meet and have a little fun without having to leave the hotel,” Foster said.
An additional nine sponsored suites on the upper floors of the hotel on Sunday and Monday nights provide another relaxed way to network with sponsors and fellow travelers in the industry.
A few sponsorship opportunities are available for the upcoming convention, including the high-visibility and vital wi-fi sponsorship. Getting exclusive bandwidth for conference attendees allows everyone from CEOs to engineers to keep in touch with their teams and gives easy access to the GPA Midstream Convention app.
“The wifi sponsor provides convention attendees with dedicated bandwidth so we don’t have to share the wifi with everyone else in the hotel,” Foster said.
Foster said a shared sponsorship is possible and gives the companies name recognition on the landing page of the convention app as well as signage near the registration area informing people how to log in to the network.
Other chances to sponsor convention activities can also be found around the popular Sporting Clays event at the National Shooting Complex on Sunday morning. That includes sponsorship of the shooting stations, the breakfast and prizes, usually in the form of gift cards. To become a sponsor, email Foster.
