Impact of Sulfur Species on Glycol Dehydration (GPA 992-3): Solubility Study of Certain Sulfur Species in Glycol Aqueous Solutions, January 2008

Project 992-3

Experimental Vapor-Liquid Equilibrium Data for (COS/H2S/MEG/H2O) and (COS/H2S/TEG/H2O) Systems.

This report presents solubility data of COS and H2S in MEG and TEG aqueous solutions at VLE conditions.  A total of more than 100 solubility measurements are presented for this challenging system in this report including about 30 data points for the systems involving MEG and about 65 for systems involving TEG.  The solubility measurements generated by Project 992 will be utilized to refine the equation of state predictions for the solubility of H2S, CO2 and COS in glycol solutions and thus improve the modeling of all glycol dehydration systems handling sour gas components.
