GPA Midstream Association

The Young Professionals (YP) Committee exists to provide a better understanding of GPA Midstream committee work and to encourage involvement in the association for professionals with less than 10 years of midstream industry experience. The YP Committee is made up of individuals appointed as YP Liaisons that serve on other GPA Midstream committees to learn more about committee work and involvement under the direction of other GPA Midstream committee leaders. Each YP Liaison works directly with his/her committee chair and vice chair, and each YP Liaison’s involvement depends solely upon his/her desire to be directly involved. YP Liaisons serve a 1-year term on a designated committee, running from April to April to fall in line with most GPA Midstream committee leaders’ terms.

During the annual YP Committee meeting in April, each YP Liaison is responsible for providing a brief report to the committee about his/her specific role in the assigned committee, what the committee does, current projects/issues, etc., to foster involvement and educate the entire group on the workings of all GPA Midstream committees. Other professionals that fit the YP definition of “professionals with less than 10 years of midstream industry experience” are welcome to attend the April meeting to get a better understanding of GPA Midstream committees and learn about how they can become involved; the April meeting is not limited to YP Liaisons only.

Typical Committee Member

A young professional is loosely defined as someone with less than 10 years of industry experience. GPA Midstream member company employees meeting that definition are invited and encouraged to become involved with the Young Professionals Committee.

Benefits of Committee Membership

Young Professionals Committee members have an incredible opportunity to step up in a leadership role within this committee and other GPA Midstream committees, while also networking with peers as well as the midstream industry’s more seasoned professionals.

Interaction with other GPA Midstream Committees/Outside Organizations

Members of the GPA Midstream board of directors often attend the Young Professionals Committee networking event during the GPA Midstream Convention to meet the industry’s next generation of leaders and encourage their continued involvement. Many young professionals also choose to attend other GPA Midstream committee meetings and are encouraged to get involved in their specific areas of interest.
