GPA Midstream’s Environmental Committee monitors environmental issues, particularly those of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and equivalent state agencies where midstream operations are or could be affected. The committee frequently coordinates GPA Midstream member company volunteers to develop a midstream industry position on key industry issues, develops appropriate action plans and files comments as necessary. The Environmental Committee reports their activities to members of the Advocacy Steering Committee and seeks feedback from other committee leaders.
This committee initiated and annually handles the application process for the GPA Midstream Environmental Excellence Award, which is a project-based award that acknowledges and honors companies' achievements in energy conservation and environmental support. The award is presented each year among more than 2,500 midstream professionals at the annual GPA Midstream Convention.
Any employee of a GPA Midstream member company interested in participating in or learning more about midstream industry environmental activities is welcome and encouraged to join this committee.
The Environmental Committee has filed numerous comments with the EPA on a number of issues affecting GPA Midstream members. Those comments are available for review/download in the GPA Midstream Knowledge Center.
